It's been two weeks since our incredible wedding and it still hasn't sunk in! It's a cliche, but this really was the best day of my life - everything was perfect: from the weather to having my best friends around me to the food and music to my beautiful bride.I'm comfortable enough to admit that a few manly tears of joy were shed at various points, such as when I first saw Rachel gliding across the grass towards me to the strains of The Imperial March.
Rachel had pulled a wonderful sneaky trick on me by arranging to have 'Darth Vader' stand in as our ringbearer. I knew nothing about this and it sealed the day for pretty much everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't some guests who had more pictures on their cameras of Darth than of the happy couple!
Everyone has commented on how relaxed the day was and I must confess that I felt utterly serene throughout the day - not a trace of the nerves I was expecting - although later on alcohol probably played a large part in keeping me going (I haven't really drunk since I came out of hospital two years ago).
I have so many great memories from the day that I could ramble on for pages, but I'll let the pictures over at My Big Fat Geek Wedding speak for themselves. These will be continually updated as more people send us copies of their snaps and both Rachel and I are eagerly awaiting the DVD film of the day that Abbie and Martin are putting together!
