We get a truly Machiavellian cool Lex Luthor, awaiting his fate in the electric chair; an extraterrestrial game of 'catch' with Krypto; a likable Jimmy Olsen; a sexy Lois Lane; Supermen from the future. Pure canon fodder for the fans old school and new, served up with that Morrison panache that has made him one of the most recognisable writers in this field. His words are complemented by artwork from his old X-Men buddy Frank Quitely and striking colours from Jamie Grant.
This is big scale superheroics - as Superman was always supposed to be - and long may it continue. Forget the cheesy film, this is the real Man of Steel.
