The Week In Geek (Meteor Crash Special)...

A round-up of geeky news you might have missed...

(1) Fireball Over Canada: A spectacular fireball lit up the sky over the Canada in late November, and scientists have just found meteor debris. No reports of blindness or escaping triffids yet...

(2) RTD OBE O.K.: Russell T Davies, the man who regenerated Doctor Who, has collected his OBE from Prince Charles.

(3) Triffid News: My favourite post-apocalyptic book, The Day Of The Triffids, is to get a 21st Century make-over by the BBC, off the back of its success with Survivors.

(4) Sarah Jane Gets Third Year: The BBC has announced a third season of The Sarah Jane Adventures for next year, as well as a Shaun The Sheep spin-off called Timmy Time.

(5) Rackham Revisits The Web: Troubled French figures company Rackham, manufacturers of AT-43, are launching a new website next year to better support their games.

(6) Take Home Dr Horrible: Joss Whedon's great superhero musical/comedy Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is released on DVD in the US on Decmeber 19.

(7) Hiiii-yaaa! Reality Blur's Iron Dynasty: Art Of War for Savage Worlds is slated for a March 2009 release, bringing a mash-up of Oriental martial arts, samurai and steampunk to the table top.

(8) Dawn Treader Runs Aground: After my positive review of Prince Caspian, it's sad to report that the proposed third Narnia movie, Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, may have already hit the rocks before it has even left port.

About Me

My Photo
The Acrobatic Flea
I was a regular salaryman, earning a crust with my meager writing skills, until an aneurysm tore open my aorta unexpectedly in early 2005. I suffered a stroke during surgery and a collapsed lung afterwards. I have since realised that I now have a new chance at life, which (body willing) I shall indulge in with positiveness, happiness and the good companionship of my wonderful wife. The Acrobatic Flea handle comes from the name of my favourite - and most successful - Villains & Vigilantes RPG character in the '80s.
