The HeroPress Review Of 2008...

EVENT OF 2008: Moving into our new home in March. Now I have my own 'fortress of solitude'; the entire top floor of the house is my gamesroom with storage space for comics, action figures, DVDs, books etc

GEEK EVENT OF 2008: Finally getting back behind a Gamesmaster's screen with the launch of The Tuesday Knights' monthly Castles & Crusades roleplaying game in my homebrewed world of Tekralh. Pete has now offered to run a Top Secret campaign for us as well and the other day Steve even offered to start running Villains & Vigilantes again!

FICTIONAL GEEK HERO OF 2008: Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), from The Big Bang Theory.

MOST POPULAR GEEK PIN-UP OF 2008 (by number of site hits): Jane Seymour.

FILM OF THE YEAR (seen at cinema):(1) Star Wars: The Clone Wars; (2) Iron Man; (3) Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

DVDs OF 2008
: (1) The Dark Knight; (2) Life After People; (3) Kingdom Of Heaven (Definitive Edition).

Hey, Tim. Thanks very much. That's a high compliment!

Well deserved, Rob :-)

I judge a book by how long afterwards I keep thinking about it... and I still wander off to the Cape every now and then, while details from some other books I read last year have vanished totally from the foggy mess I call my memory!

About Me

My Photo
The Acrobatic Flea
I was a regular salaryman, earning a crust with my meager writing skills, until an aneurysm tore open my aorta unexpectedly in early 2005. I suffered a stroke during surgery and a collapsed lung afterwards. I have since realised that I now have a new chance at life, which (body willing) I shall indulge in with positiveness, happiness and the good companionship of my wonderful wife. The Acrobatic Flea handle comes from the name of my favourite - and most successful - Villains & Vigilantes RPG character in the '80s.
