I Want My Kröd!

Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire is a chucklesome adventure fantasy co-production between America's Comedy Central and our own BBC2.

The first season appears to be six episodes (very British) and four have already been shown in the States. So where's our slice of the pie?

As far as I can make out, the show is some sort of cocktail of Xena, Little Britain and Dungeons & Dragons, with Grange Hill's Sean Maguire as hapless hero Kröd and Matt Lucas as the evil Chancellor Dongalor.

Oh, and the rather gorgeous India de Beaufort play's Kröd's "girlfriend" Aneka.

As BBC licence fee payers we have a right to say: "We want our Kröd and we want it now!"

3 serfs have something to say about this!:

  1. I can handle campy, but halfway through the third episode not even the Aneka could keep me from changing the channel. I didn't have high hopes and it just went down from there.

It is like Black Adder written by morons and acted out by trained and strategically shaved monkeys.

  2. Sadly I am beginning to suspect from comments such as yours - and those of friends on The Midnight's Lair forum - that Krod Mandoon may not be the show I was hoping it would be :-(

However, I'd still like to see it for myself and make up my own mind - as comedy can be a very personal and subjective thing, especially when it crosses the North Atlantic Ocean.

  3. I won't think less of you if you like it.:)

I am sure that by now Youtube has snippets of the show as well.

Somehow I was hoping that at least the eyecandy of Aneka could save the show, but she looks like a b-grade adult movie actress with too much make-up.

We need another clever fantasy/medieval comedy like Black Adder.
