Today the first bricks were put down and the paving began to take shape. Obviously it still needs pointing, but we already have a better idea of how the garden will look when it's all finished.
I was a regular salaryman, earning a crust with my meager writing skills, until an aneurysm tore open my aorta unexpectedly in early 2005. I suffered a stroke during surgery and a collapsed lung afterwards. I have since realised that I now have a new chance at life, which (body willing) I shall indulge in with positiveness, happiness and the good companionship of my wonderful wife. The Acrobatic Flea handle comes from the name of my favourite - and most successful - Villains & Vigilantes RPG character in the '80s.

September 28 - Heropress wracked up an impressive 676 hits yesterday, with the majority coming from people interested in my coverage of Merlin. Quite a large number were also drawn to my pictures of Stargate's Amanda Tapping! July 12, 2009 - What a week for HeroPress: yesterday we edged closer to the mystical 1,000 barrier by getting 981 hits, but I suspect with Torchwood over, the hits will now return to normal. July 11, 2009 - An earth-shattering 972 people visited HeroPress yesterday. Thank you, Torchwood, again! I can't see that record being broken anytime soon - but I'd love to hit the 1,000 one day ;-)

January 27, 2009 - HeroPress has been awarded the Premio Dardo award by Reis O'Brien of Geek Orthodox, for being a "unique voice and vision on the Web".
January 3, 2009 - HeroPress is sitting comfortably at number 28 in The Comic Book Elite's top 100.
