Although I've lived in Tonbridge with Rachel for several years now, I still consider myself - at heart - a Tunbridge Wells man. It's the town I was born and raised in and spent most of my working life in; it's home to the editorial offices of Doctor Who Monthly magazine and has recently been named as home to England's next big hope for Miss World glory: Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, who flies out to South Africa on Tuesday for the annual competition (on December 12).
Not only is 22-year-old Katrina a hot babe (obviously), who has modeled for La Senza, but she's also a serving soldier in the Royal Anglian Regiment (and was recognised for her performance during her posting in Basra) who earned the nickname of "Combat Barbie" and hopes to use her new title to raise funds for various military charities, including Help For Heroes.
I haven't watched Miss World for years - in fact I'm not sure it's even shown on TV these days, but I'll certainly be taking an interest this year and cheering on our local girl!

2 persons have something to say about this!:
Are all the local girls like this? I might have to visit sometime!
Tunbridge Wells has its fair share of, what we used to call in my youth, "posh totty", but probably no more or less than any typical middle-class town in the UK. I guess it's our heritage ;-)
