The world looks wonderful outside our windows today. We had about four or five inches of snow overnight in Tonbridge and more is predicted for later this afternoon and into the evening. The sun was out briefly but has now scurried away behind grey curtains. The roads are virtually impassable and when Rachel went to the train earlier to see if she could get to work, there were none running. She's now headed off again with the hope of getting a train to London (and out of the snow zone), so she can try to make it to her friend's wedding outside Derby tomorrow.
She's caught a train to London okay, so hopefully the rest of the journey will be reasonably straight forward as the news says we're pretty much at the heart of the worst-hit area.

2 persons have something to say about this!:
I hope the St. Bernard with the rum cask around his neck reaches you poor folks before all the supplies run out. I would make a joke but there are places even here in Canada that shut down like you have been in equally snowy weather. STAY ALIVE! WE WILL FIND YOU!
Ha ha ha! Come on, it must be quite hilarious for you to see how little country going into apoplexy and infrastructure shutdown when we get a modicum of snow on the ground :D
Anyway, Rachel's safely squirreled away in her hotel outside Derby (for her friend's wedding) and I've got the heating on, my Superman dressing gown and a steaming mug of tea - so all is well with the world. No need to send the St Bernards in just yet ;)
