Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers...

Coming to iTunes, Xbox LIVE, and PlayStation Network on Monday, March 28, Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers is a four-part animation serial (future episodes arriving weekly on Wednesdays beginning April 6) from Marvel Knights Animation.

At first I thought it was one of those naff, pointless, motion comics, but it appears to be a rather stylish, full-on animation to help generate some more pre-release buzz for the Thor movie. It's hard to tell until I see an actual episode.

These will cost $2.99 for each high-definition episode (standard definition is available at $1.99 per episode), and, of course, there's no guarantee they'll be in the British iTunes store anyway.

I'd like to see one to be able to fully judge the animation quality before deciding whether to wait for the inevitable DVD release.

4 serfs have something to say about this!:

  1. If it does turn out to be a badly animated motion comic, it would only be appropriate, given the old Mighty Thor cartoon was exactly that!

  2. From repeated viewings of the trailer I'm starting to think it might be part-animation and part "motion comic". In which case I'll just buy the graphic novel!

However, if it's a full animation, then I'll be interested. Guess we'll have to wait for the first reviews or someone to post a longer clip on YouTube ;)

  4. Sadly still not in the UK :( I've seen more of this now and would really like to see the whole thing but for some reason we Brits are being excluded from the party!!!
