October is traditionally the month of the macabre and so what better time of the year to launch a new podcast showcasing creepy tales of the weird and unknown in the style of "old time radio"?
Taking a leaf out of the HP Lovecraft Historical Society's book, Macabre Fantasy kicked off this week with a wonderful adaptation of HP Lovecraft's The Statement Of Randolph Carter, recorded live at the 2012 H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival in San Pedro, California, at the historic Warner Grand Theater.
The brainchild of David Milano, who acts as announcer for the show, each episode will feature an original adaptation of a classic work of “weird” fiction/horror presented as though it had been produced in the 1930′s complete with an “old time” announcer and a “fake” sponsor ad at the top of each show.
If future offerings are as impressive as The Statement Of Randolph Carter then Macabre Fantasy will be a fixture on my iPod for a long time to come.
