It was a present from my in-laws - who, by now, know my bizarre geeky tastes rather well (even if they don't fully understand them).
I must stress, although I had talked (jokingly) with Rachel about the existence of such outfits, I never honestly expected to ever own one.
It turned out that Rachel's mum had already purchased this for me sometime before I even had that conversation with Rachel!
However, I wasn't the only "superhero" around these parts to get a new costume for Christmas.
Mon-Key Wan Kenobi, the galaxy's foremost simian jedi (and occasional caped crusader) got a Build-A-Bear Workshop Captain America outfit from Rachel.
Check out his muscle suit and funky little shield below!
Where the Cap costume scores over the Bat costume is that the designers didn't even try and put eye holes in the face mask this time - they're simply black eye shapes, so there are no problems with lining up Mon-Key's eyes in the slots.
I'm not sure if either of us will be enrolling in Stan Lee's Academy Of Heroes any time soon...

So you can Build-A-Monkey as well as Build-A-Bear?
ReplyDeleteand Build-A-Cat (we got one for mum - who loves cats - the other year!) and Build-A-Dog and Build-A-Rabbit... etc etc ;-)
Deletewe build a moose... my wife has like 30 of them...
ReplyDeleteRachel has drawn the line at one... and he's not even allowed his own wardrobe for all his outfits (although it is rather amusing that they all hang on the lower rail of my side of the wardrobe)
DeleteI'm a little scared by the onesie. And possibly aroused...
ReplyDeleteOh, Paul, I wish you'd stopped at scared ;-)
